It’s the week of Christmas! YAAAAY!
Just 4 more sleeps to go 🙂
The lead up to Christmas has always, and will always be, my favourite time of the year.
Wrapping presents, seeing family and friends, watching Christmas films whilst you FINALLY crack open that seal on your chosen tin of chocolates…
But one of my most treasured memories is the house filling up with all the beautiful smells of Christmas.
Back in the day (I’m old enough to say that, I swear!) when we used to get snow at Christmas… After a long day of sledging and snowman making, there was nothing more satisfying than walking through the front door, greeted by a waft of warm air filled with the glowing smells of gingerbread, cinnamon, and clementines. No better feeling than flicking off my wellies, running inside with my nose matching the colour of Rudolph’s, and being given that mug of hot chocolate… with my fingers still burning from the cold.
Oh the nostalgia! 🙂
Although I usually make a gingerbread creation every year, this year I simply just ran out of time! So I made these tastey little treats instead. SUPER super easy. They make great little homemade gifts too!
Here is what you will need…
100g Dark Chocolate
100g White Chocolate
Granola Mix to sprinkle! (or anything you fancy!)
Flat tray / chopping board wrapped in Greaseproof paper
Break up your 2 types of chocolate into pieces and place in them in separate glass bowls.
Place one of your glass bowls over a pan of boiling water (make sure the water isn’t touching the bottom of the bowl)
Let the chocolate melt completely.
Start to spoon the chocolate onto your greasproof paper, in to approx. 4cm circles. Don’t worry about them being perfect circles. Mine certainly weren’t! It adds to their charm 🙂
Whilst your chocolate circles are still tacky, sprinkle with your chosen topping.
Put in the fridge to set for approx. 30 minutes, and lift out when needed 🙂
See I told you they were easy!
You can either serve them at parties, or give some to your friends as a little homemade Christmas gift! Below, I will show you what I did with some of mine…
Using some more greaseproof paper, I made little pockets for my chocolate circles 🙂 You could the decorate them any way you like! But I LOVE any excuse to use my stamps..
You could do pretty much ANY variety of these. Use different chocolate, different toppings – maybe even add some edible stars and glitter! If you have made something festive in your kitchen, please share! 🙂
I hope you all have a VERY lovely Christmas! And a Happy New Year 🙂 x x x
